For more than 30 years I vacationed in Gloucester, bringing college roommates from California to enjoy our tidal coastline, family from New York to experience New England Clam Chowder and fried clams, and colleagues from France to appreciate our wooden homes. Then after traveling around the world working for Microsoft, I returned to my favorite Seaport, moving into our summer home at Good Harbor Beach. Volunteering at the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, I was surprised at all the tourist attractions here — I thought it was just whale watching! I was amazed 2000 artists call this area home, and intrigued by the artists whom I saw in museums in Paris, Milan and London were inspired here! Innovations that I use daily, invented here! And traditions from Sicily, the Azores and Finland thriving here today as they did 150 years ago — who knew! As you can imagine, impressed by our history of innovation, immigration, and inspiration, with a backdrop of a perfectly lit rocky coast, dotted by granite quarries, bustling harbors, historic homes, artistic installations and vibrant festivals, I was compelled to start Plug-In Cape Ann Tours in 2017, to share my passion, connecting people to this multi-faceted multi-seasonal vacation destination.
Plug-In Tours is the only LAND based sightseeing tour that escorts you around the island. I hope you will join one of our regularly scheduled tours, or let us organize your Cape Ann Experience — exploring history, scenic places, hiking, biking, boating, distilleries, watching whales, birds or fish, exploring the art, museums, music, and wonderful waterside restaurants – paired with over night or weeklong stays at area hotels, or vacation homes.
We can help you enjoy a memorable experience with your friends, family, bachelor/bachelorette party, women’s group, family reunion, birthday party, or graduation. We have access to great locations, fun experiences and dynamic guides that will ensure that you Plug-In and enjoy all that Cape Ann has to offer!
This year, you will find our bus parked on Stacy Boulevard, just a few steps from the Fisherman’s Memorial. You can meet us there, or call to request a pick-up at the train station or from your Cape Ann hotel.
